UPDATE: Trump has now fired this lawyer.
Once again, Donald Trump does the exact opposite of what an innocent person would do. This time, after the New York Times reported that White House Counsel has been cooperating with the Mueller probe NY Times: White House Counsel, Don McGahn, Has Cooperated Extensively in Mueller Inquiry, the President replied in his usual unhinged fashion via Twitter:
Let’s be clear here. The New York Times did not in any way suggest that White House Counsel is a “RAT”. The New York Times merely reported on the fact that the White House Counsel was cooperating with a law enforcement inquiry. Donald Trump, and Donald Trump alone, interpreted that to mean that they were accusing the White House Counsel of being a “RAT”. One must ask, would an innocent person do this? I don’t see why. Now, would a mob boss do this? Certainly.
This also follows a clear pattern of behavior for the man who is currently the President of the United States. He acts every bit as someone who is guilty would act.
Donald Trump has continually attacked members of the United States Intelligence community, most recently former Director of the CIA John Brennan, and tried at every point to undermine the country’s trust in the FBI and CIA, going so far as to refer to the United States Intelligence Agencies as a “Deep State”:
He has forced the firings of career FBI officials like James Comey, Peter Strzok, and Andrew McCabe and hasn’t even tried to hide the fact that the purpose was to attempt to undercut any future testimony they might give, using them repeatedly as lynch pins to his claims of a conspiracy that has been cooked up against him:
Donald Trump has continually attacked the media as being the enemy of the people and “fake news” because they have reported on the Mueller probe:
He has publicly asked the Attorney General to stop the Mueller probe:
Donald Trump has obsessively tried to falsely paint the Mueller probe, which is being run by lifelong Republicans as a partisan investigation being run by Democrats:
He has gone so far as to blame Obama for not stopping Russia from trying to help the Trump campaign:
But also claimed that there was no meddling by Russia that Obama could have stopped because Russia denies that it meddled:
And then he has basically admitted that his campaign did in fact collude with Russia, but that there was nothing wrong with doing that:
And even while pathetically and falsely claiming that collusion with a foreign country to influence an election isn’t a crime, he has also claimed that it was actually Democrats who colluded with Russia (to lose, apparently, which makes no sense whatsoever):
And, if you can believe it, Donald Trump has also claimed that he’s been trying to stay out of the investigation:
Sometimes, he has grown tired of all of these mental gymnastics and just tried to be succinct:
And when all else fails, Donald Trump has held open the possibility that he could pardon himself:
This, also, is by no means even close to an exhaustive rundown on Donald Trump’s public actions with regards to the Mueller probe. There are many, many more examples of this type of behavior.
If you have read this far, and I hope you have, I have but one simple question to ask: Are these the actions of an innocent man?
