Donald Trump’s Labor Day golf outing got cancelled.
Monday, September 3rd, 2018 – The President has no public events scheduled. No golf outing today (Hot & Humid in D.C.)
So, our mentally ill President found himself with some idle time. Being a holiday, it was a pretty slow day on cable news, so his second favorite hobby was also unavailable. Naturally, this left one thing for him to do: hop on Twitter and let his inner dictator shine through:
Yes, you read that right: the President of the United States just criticized the Attorney General of the United States for not stopping the criminal investigations of two Republican Congressman because it could hinder these Congressmen from being re-elected.
Donald Trump once claimed to be the candidate of law and order. Ha! Donald Trump just spit in the face of the entire concept of law and order. This is how dictators rule: through party loyalty and fear, not through law and order. Obviously, that is what Donald Trump would prefer.
In case you were unaware of what these Congressmen did that Donald Trump believes should have been swept under the rug because of their party affiliation, here is a rundown:
Rep. Chris Collins (R-NY) was arrested Wednesday on federal charges of insider trading for allegedly using his position at a pharmaceutical company to leak information to his son, who then used it to dump company stock before it crashed. He is also charged with lying to the FBI about those trades.
Innate was anxiously awaiting the results of an FDA trial for its experimental multiple-sclerosis drug in 2017 when it got news the drug failed its latest clinical trial. Innate’s CEO informed Collins and his colleagues on the company’s board of directors of the devastating news via email.
Minutes later, Collins frantically called his son while he was attending a congressional picnic at the White House. After trying six times, Collins finally got through to Cameron and allegedly told him Innate’s drug was a bust. Cameron then gave the news to his fiancée Lauren Zarsky’s family, who were also invested in Innate: Zarsky’s, her father Stephen, her mother Dorothy, and Stephen Zarky’s friend. (Stephen Zarsky also allegedly tipped off his brother, his sister, and a long-standing friend, who were all invested in Innate.)
Republican Congressman Duncan Hunter and his wife, Margaret, routinely — and illegally — used campaign funds to pay personal bills big and small, from luxury vacations to kids’ school lunches and delinquent family dentistry bills, according to a stinging 47-page indictment unsealed Tuesday.
…The indictment also charges that Duncan Hunter facilitated the “theft of campaign funds” by directing his treasurer to obtain a campaign credit card for his wife at a time when she had no formal role. The congressman then insisted that his wife be named as his paid campaign manager — over the objections of his treasurer — because, according to the document, he said the family needed “the extra money that would come from her salary.”
