Rudy Giuliani is some kind of a lawyer. Speaking to the Daily Beast for a story about Trump’s involvement with the illegal campaign contributions that were made when hush money payment were made in 2016 to two women with whom Trump had affairs, Rudy Giuliani admitted that his client is guilty:
Giuliani told The Daily Beast that the scandal involving Trump and payments to his alleged mistresses have been blown out of proportion.
“Nobody got killed, nobody got robbed. … This was not a big crime,” Giuliani said. “I think in two weeks they’ll start with parking tickets that haven’t been paid.”
That’s quite the stellar defense being employed by Trump’s lawyer: hey, nobody got killed. It’s doubtful that defense would hold up very well in a court of law, though. And, in saying that Trump did not commit a “big crime”, Rudy Giuliani is admitting that Donald Trump did commit some kind of crime.
Unbelievably, this is not the first time Trump’s aging lawyer Rudy Giuliani has unwittingly admitted his client is guilty.
Back in September, Rudy Giuliani indicated that Trump’s legal team will try to block the final report from the Mueller investigation from being made public, even though, theoretically, but not likely, the final report from the Mueller investigation could exonerate the President:
Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani said that the administration may claim executive privilege to block Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein from releasing Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report when the investigation is finished, according to a New Yorker report.
Giuliani claims that President Donald Trump’s original legal team—which has undergone many mutations since—cut a deal with Mueller that that the White House can object to public dissemination of information from the probe on the grounds of executive privilege.
When asked if the White House is likely to invoke this clause, Giuliani was frank: “I’m sure we will.”
This basically amounted to an admission of guilt by Trump’s lawyer. They will try to block the Mueller investigation report, even though they don’t know yet what will be in it. They know they will try to block it, though, because they know that Trump is guilty.
And Rudy Giuliani just goes out and tells everyone.
The best people.
